put the plants out of cats reach, example-hanging baskets. So many new plants are being found to be poinonous to cats.
Reply:train your plants to eat your cats.
Reply:Cats like to chew on greens. It helps their digestion (hair balls)
Reply:Hit them on the nose whenever they do it, Not overly hard, or spray them with a water bottle... or get a plant that is just for the cat to eat something that wont harm them and thats the only plant you don't punish them for eatting eventually they get the point. at least mine did
Reply:Yeah, putting the plants out of reach is probably the best, but can be kind of hard if you have a lot of them.

My cat always ate down my plants too. I bought some plastic, double sided adhesive strips and put them around my plants. I don't know if you have noticed, but they hate sticky things. He eventually learned not to go near them.

The water bottle works too, but you have to be really vigilant. If you don't watch them the whole time, or you are out of the house, they will go ahead and eat them. Cats are a lot smarter than dogs in that way.

Be careful with the peppers too, they can have really bad effects to their eyes and nose. Although you don't want them to eat your plants, you dont want to make a trip to the vet if you cat reacts badly to the pepper. Not worth the risk.

Good luck.
Reply:You could try some bitter apple spray. It is sold in petshops etc. and does a good job of keeping dogs and cats from chewing, scratching things you don't want them to.
Reply:Just make sure you don't spray bug poisoning on the plants
Reply:Shake a little pepper around the plants. Cats hate pepper. Their sense of smell is very powerfull, and pepper irritates the heck out of em. This works great. My cat used to chew on all of our plants until he got sick. The veterinarian suggested this, and ever since the cat stays away. We just have to shake some more pepper around the plants after we vacuum or sweep etc. It's easy and un-noticeable by other people.
