How do you keep a Calathea/Basil/Airplane plants happy house plants?

I have eastern facing windows and live in the pacific northwest.

These will need to have well drained soil. Trim the basil as you go. As long as they are getting morning sun, and indirect sun, they should be fine. I would fertilize them no more than once a month. If you can keep the relative humidity of your home at a decent level (above 30%) they will thrive. Being in the Pacific NW this should not be a problem unless you have a wood stove.

Good luck. And don't eat the airplane plant (I am sure you already knew that)
