How do I stop my house plants from growing a white mould on the surface of the compost?

This has only been happening in the last few weeks and I have not been doing anything different from usual with them

How do I stop my house plants from growing a white mould on the surface of the compost?
Soil needs to be changed out...when doing so seperate the roots in the root ball by brushing dirt away from them, allowing them to be freed up and removing the old soild from the ball.......replant with fresh soil..Make sure the soil at the base of the plant is loose and not packed down....the soil has become compacted and is not gettiing air circulation...adding stones in the dirt makes for air pockets and is good for house plants....
Reply:Too much watering or inadequate drainage. In the winter time plants don't need as much watering compared to warmer seasons. Also, if you changed the location of the plant itself from a sunny location to a less lighted area, you will experience this. Clear off this white mold from your composting and start over.
Reply:Cover the soil with small fish tank stones or white pebbles from DIY store....mould has been growing coz of the moisture in the air/soil and poor air circulaton at 'ground' level! Always happens when central heating goes on in my house - stones sorted it!
