How do i make my house plants have shiny leaves?

i bought that shiny leaf spray..but it aint doing much..except maybe? cleaning off the leaves..do i have to do many times before i see results? in my doctor's office it really is shiny..almost like they must have used cooking oil..could it be? what can i use to make the leaves shiny immediately..i have so many that i hate to have to do several applications..and i can't spray directly..it gets all over the floor and walls..i sprayed on a clothe and wiped..(it is too much work to start to take them all outside)..in any case, i think there is something more potent that is being used that made my doctor's leaves so shiny..but they have a service..and don't know what it is.

Rub some veggie oil on the leaves for shine; and always read care instructions! Return to place of purchase for directions and corrections!
Reply:Well I would say to clean it with Pinesol! It wont hurt the plant and it smells good..plus it give wood a shine..why not plants also.
Reply:I was a floral designer for years. We used a product called "Leaf Shine" in an aerosol can. We got it from a distributor, but I noticed that our local nursery has it also. There is a MiracleGro brand in a spray, but it isn't nearly as good. The real Leaf Shine only needs one spray to be brilliant. Ask your local florist if you can buy a can, because their kind goes farther and shines the best.

Some people will tell you that butter or milk will also work. It will, but the shine is not as intense, and there is a smell.
Reply:Put lip gloss on them..see what happens
