How do I keep My cats from laying and playing in my house plants?

Put some citrus peel around the pot, such as lemon or orange, they don't like this, it's how I stopped one of my cats from constantly chewing on radiator caps, I rubbed orange peel on them.

How do I keep My cats from laying and playing in my house plants?
thats a easy fix u have to options the first option and most effective is to get a spray bottle and when u see them in there spray them just on or twice with a squrt of water or put suran wrap on the bottom and when they touch they wont like it .
Reply:I had to use stones in my larger planters to keep the cats from digging in them - it might work for you. Check out the garden or landscape section in stores for bags of stone at least 1/2" or 3/4" in size. Cover the soil with them. As a bonus, it helps hold in moisture just as it does when used outside in the garden as mulch.

Now if I could stop them from chewing on the leaves....
Reply:put lemon or any lemon species like orange, lime(all in liquid form).cat doesn't like this smell.it also can correct the soil acidity.

other than that you can put rock on the soil as additional protection.it also can give the moisture to the soil.

this combination will give the best.

love your cat ha...
Reply:"Bitter Apple Spray" keep my cats away from my plants :)
Reply:cut a piece of cardboard big enough to cover the top and hang over the sides slightly. then starting on the outside corner cut into the center and then cut a hole large enough for you plant to fit through, this will sit nicely on top of your pots, place a couple of decorative rocks on top to hold cardboard down and keep your cats out, and then just lift the corner, to water your plants,

you can also cover the cardboard with fabric or sticky paper, to make it more decorative and match the colors or patterns in your house!!!
Reply:Spray limon juice on your plants. That'll make them think twice before they go over an scratch u your plant. You can find the juice at walmart in the pet section an the stuff doesnt harm anything it just comes across as a bad odor to the cats.
Reply:Put pinecones on top of the soil

We've done this all my life and it works!

Our cats used to use the soil in the plants as their littler box :(

But this really worked to deter them from using it!
Reply:We had to do this when my cat was a little kitten, he thought the plants were his kitty litter, so we put rocks on top of the soil and then, eventually he became disinterested in the plants and we could take the rocks off
Reply:Any of the above suggestions will work. You could also use mothballs (although they are kind of stinky). And if you are nearby and catch them doing this, spray them with a squirt of water from a water bottle.
Reply:lock it outside.
