How do i get rid of gnats on my house plants?

it started as one or two but they have multiplied and i fear an uprising. I must destroy them asap as they may be harboring WMI's (weapons of mass infestation). i would like to preserve my plants so i cant go with the shock and awe destruction tactic. i would prefer to go in special forces style and tactfully take out the source. any ideas?

These are usually fungus gnats. They lay their eggs in the soil, these become larvae and eventually gnats. One good way to eliminate them is with BT. You can get this at a lot of nurseries or from the website below:
Reply:fly spray. will kill em all but not harm plants in a well ventillated room
