Which house plants are best?

I tend to get many sinus infections, and my brother has bad allergies.... however our family LOVES nature, we LOVE having plants in the house .... we have a huge room (the "Sun room" we call it)...and it has nothginb but windows and plants....its very theraputic to us...

I've heard though that the dirt that the plants grow in can contain a lot of things that cause allergies (mold etc...)... I know that there are certian plants that do not require soil.... I think one time i saw a babmboo type plant somewhere and it grew in just water and rocks.... (I've also heard that ceritan plants are better for acting as 'natural air filters')...

Any suggestions on good house plants that wont cause too many allergy problems would be great...

Lucky Bamboo is totally cool and easy to care for..just keep water in the planter/dish and some pebble or glass stones. BUT, they do no like sunlight. Mine thrive in a bathroom with NO sun at all. You can also grow Peace Lillies in water..they're the plants that everyone had in with the Betta fish as the latest trend a few years ago. But please don't forget to feed your fish if you do that...it was a myth that they could survive off of the plants roots and a bizzilion of them starved to death:( They prefer a lot o shade too though. How about some hanging philadendrons? Buy good soil that has been heat treated, and never over-water to avoid/prevent any mold or yeck getting started:)

Good Luck!
